Kallara House, completed project feature
A refined expression of modern coastal living, Kallara House brings together architecture, landscape and lifestyle in the heart of Parkdale. Positioned beside the village and moments from the shoreline, the completed development reflects our commitment to thoughtful design and enduring quality within one of Melbourne’s most coveted bayside locations.
Inspired by Parkdale’s tea-tree landscape and coastal rhythm, Kallara House was envisioned as a collection of residences deeply connected to place. Developed and built by Lowe Living, In collaboration with acclaimed architects Warren & Mahoney and landscape architect Tom Fritsch, Kallara House delivers thirty-three residences designed to balance contemporary living with a relaxed seaside sensibility. Enhancing the fabric of Parkdale, this standout development offers a lifestyle of sophistication and ease.
Lowe Living co-founder and Managing Director Tim Lowe explains “we chose this site in Parkdale because it presented a rare opportunity to create something truly special within a well-loved coastal community. Parkdale has this effortless balance of calm, connection, and amenity, all within walking distance of the beach. It aligned perfectly with our experience delivering projects that enhance established neighbourhoods. From the outset, we knew this location had the potential to become a standout example of refined Bayside living.”
Designed by Warren & Mahoney, the architecture embraces the natural beauty and atmosphere of Parkdale. Soft neutral tones, textured materials and layered landscaping reference the surrounding coastal environment, while expansive glazing, high ceilings and expansive terraces encourage natural light and seamless indoor-outdoor living.
“Kallara House excels in sustainability, fostering wellbeing with abundant natural light, lush green open spaces, and vibrant opportunities for connection across all thirty-three apartments,” says Nick Deans from Warren & Mahoney. “The design philosophy showcases a perfect harmony between architectural form and natural light, seamlessly inviting indoor-outdoor connection while embodying the essence of home.”
Inside, the residences are defined by soft coastal textures and a calming material palette designed to evoke warmth and wellbeing. Oak and stone-grey joinery, engineered timber flooring and wool carpeting are paired with carefully considered layouts that maximise comfort and functionality throughout.
At the heart of each residence, the kitchens are designed to inspire both entertaining and everyday living. Expansive island benches, refined detailing and premium Bosch appliances create highly functional spaces that encourage connection and shared moments
Landscape architect Tom Fritsch has curated a landscape response that strengthens the relationship between the architecture and its natural surroundings. Lush planting, private gardens and communal green spaces introduce softness throughout the development while enhancing privacy, sustainability and resident wellbeing.
“Our vision was to foster an environmentally conscious and sustainable garden — a source of delight and fulfilment for generations to come,” says Tom Fritsch.
The landscaping extends across private courtyards, balconies and rooftop terraces, offering residents immersive garden outlooks and a deeper connection to nature. Five select residences further elevate the living experience with private rooftop terraces and panoramic views across the surrounding bayside landscape.
Emma Lowe explains, “Embracing a client-centric ethos, our clients are at the heart of everything we do. For the clients of Kallara House, we wanted them to have a sense of community alongside like-minded residents, with a focus on feeling comfortable and at ease in their new home.”
“I am excited to deliver a project that truly reflects the beauty of Parkdale. Kallara House feels calm, light filled and deeply connected to its coastal setting. Seeing the architecture, landscaping, and interiors come together in such a considered way has been incredibly rewarding. It offers a lifestyle that feels relaxed yet refined, something I know residents will love.”
