We’re thrilled to welcome SOAK Bathhouse to Emerald Place, South Melbourne, bringing its signature social bathing experience to the ground floor of our recently completed project.

This marks SOAK Bathhouse’s sixth Australian location and second Victorian venue, following the opening of its inaugural Victorian location in South Yarra, which has established SOAK Bathhouse as part of Melbourne’s growing contemporary bathing and wellness landscape.

SOAK Bathhouse is available to both Emerald Place residents and the broader South Melbourne community, creating a wellness destination designed to bridge the gap between work and home. For residents, wellness becomes part of the daily routine, while for the surrounding community, SOAK offers a place to decompress and recharge.

For us, the addition of SOAK Bathhouse forms part of a broader approach to embedding considered wellness and lifestyle amenity within our residential developments, moving beyond traditional residential facilities to create experiences that can become part of residents’ everyday lives.

Through the partnership with SOAK Bathhouse, penthouse buyers will be granted complimentary memberships, while all other residents of Emerald Place will benefit from exclusive discounted access. The resident offering is designed to make wellness an integrated part of life at Emerald Place, reflecting our broader focus on health, wellbeing and lifestyle-led amenity.

Lowe Living Cofounder Emma Lowe says,
“At Lowe Living, we view our partnerships as an extension of our design philosophy. We align with brands that genuinely elevate the everyday experience of our residents and deliver tangible value for our purchasers that enrich their lives.

SOAK Bathhouse is a natural fit for Lowe Living and, specifically, Emerald Place. Their approach to contemporary bathing and social wellness strongly aligns with our vision of creating homes that prioritise long-term health, connection and lifestyle.

“For Emerald Place, bringing SOAK Bathhouse into the building was an opportunity to extend the experience beyond the private residence, creating an integrated offering that supports the wellbeing of our residents while contributing to the broader South Melbourne community.”

Lowe Living Cofounder Tim Lowe says,
“The expectations of luxury residential living are continuing to evolve. Today’s buyers are looking beyond finishes and floorplans and placing greater value on the experience of where they live, including the quality of the amenity, wellness and lifestyle offerings available to them.

“For Lowe Living, SOAK Bathhouse is an example of how we can bring established, high-quality wellness experiences into our developments to create greater value for residents and contribute to a more holistic way of living.”

CEO of SOAK Bathhouse Rich Hutson says,
“At SOAK Bathhouse, we believe wellness is something that’s meant to be shared. Bathhouse culture has always been built on connection, creating spaces where people can slow down together, have meaningful conversations, and reconnect with themselves and each other.

“With South Melbourne, we wanted to create a place where the community can gather, build rituals and experience wellness in a way that feels social, welcoming and part of everyday life.

Being part of Emerald Place gives us the opportunity to bring that experience to both the local community and a new generation of residents who value wellness as part of their everyday lifestyle.”

The partnership between SOAK Bathhouse, Lowe Living and Emerald Place reflects a broader evolution in the role of wellness within residential development, with access to bathing, recovery and social wellbeing increasingly becoming part of the lifestyle proposition of a home.

SOAK Bathhouse is open at 186 Clarendon Street, South Melbourne. Click here for opening hours and more information about the new addition to Emerald Place.
