Lowe Living proudly spoke at the recent Urban Developer, Melbourne Residential Developer Summit. During the one-day conference, Tim Lowe, our Founder and Managing Director, shared his expertise on “Elevating Urban Living”, which was an “Insight into Melbourne’s Most Progressive Apartment Developers”.

Tim was joined on the panel by other Melbourne-based medium density developers, Katya Crema, Director of Projects at Hip V Hype and Luke McKie, the Director of Orchard Piper.

Lowe Living’s mission to raise the bar for boutique medium-density living is driven by an end-to-end service offering, across development, client services and construction. We are uniquely positioned to have transparency across the development journey to deliver our projects. Tim states, “Being able to manage construction, real estate and development under one roof brings advantages of having a broader scope of visibility across the project from the initial feasibility, to design and planning, through to settlement. The team is optimistic about the potential for acquisitions and development in the Bayside area and other aspirational suburbs in Melbourne; we’ve successfully added three new projects to our portfolio, one in Sandringham and Parkdale and the other located in South Melbourne. We are confident we have a strong pipeline for the next 12-18 months. “

“We’re aware that while some construction projects are seeing stabilisation, there is still much cautiousness around – subcontractors seem hungry but wary at this time. Fortunately, our business can detect any issues early due to the unique nature of our business being end-to-end. Lowe Living prides itself on delivering the right opportunity in the best location with a superior product behind it. This methodology has seen sales remain steady even amidst these uncertain times.

Fortunately, having our insight and transparency across construction assists us in providing solutions that enable us to surpass obstacles other businesses may experience further down the line.”

Tim also addressed today’s current market, noting that prospective buyers are savvier and tend to ask more questions about the project upfront, particularly regarding construction timelines. Fortunately, being both the developer and builder and having projects with price points at the upper end of the market helps. Lowe Living is seeing more serious buyers enquiring, can answer all the tough questions, and is experiencing improving conversion rates.

Discussing Lowe Living’s plans for expanding into more metro areas, and the furthering ambitions to undertake larger projects, saw Tim acknowledging the development of more apartments in these areas and the desire to partner with new design talent on these developments.

Lowe Living has been involved in many successful projects around Melbourne over the past decade, ranging from small-scale boutique developments to medium-scale multi-level apartment complexes.

Tim has rare insights into both the challenges and opportunities presented by today’s urban landscape and was proud to announce that at last year’s Urban Developer Awards, Alamer Brighton was crowned 2021 Development of the Year – Small Scale Residential in The Urban Developer Awards for Industry Excellence.

Alamer Brighton on Black Street, Brighton, was identified as a standout project in both development and construction, also taking out the HIA 2021 Apartment Complex of the Year award and UDIA 2022 Small Scale Development of the Year award, which is a testament to the dedication and passion of the Lowe Living team and partners. In addition to this project, Azura Aspendale also won several awards in 2022 for its design excellence and absolute beachfront location.

In the past 24 months, Lowe Living has completed a collection of luxury residences in coastal locations, including Brighton , Parkdale, Aspendale and Chelsea, earning a reputation for its high-quality finish and client experience.
